Mike Cook from Chiswick London has sent me two old Parish Magazines. One from 1942 and the other from 1946. I have scanned them in. He also sent the obituary of Mr JT Lawson of Hodthorpe. This is the final page of the January document.

Michael said, "I should explain that my ancestors on my mother's side come from Whitwell - the family was called Lawson, and my mother was Lilian Sarah Lawson. My uncle, Jack Lawson, is mentioned in the Jan 1942 edition as serving with HM Forces. My father's family - Cook - came from Creswell."
